Animals Deserve Better: Save The Animals Summit

We are convening the “Save The Animals” Summit on Sunday 5/20/18 from 1-3PM at the pet-friendly La Quinta Inn & Suites in Pomona. Among those attending will be rescue workers, prominent members of humane organizations, and concerned citizens from throughout southern California who are united in their mission to improve conditions at the Devore Animal Shelter in San Bernardino County, and make sweeping changes.  A cross-section of professionals, including a prominent animal rights attorney, veterinarians, CPA’s and journalists have RSVP’d for the Summit and are planning a “call to action.”

Why was this Summit necessary?

 Warren Eckstein, nationally syndicated Host of “The Pet Show with Warren Eckstein,” in addition to author, animal rights activist and behaviorist, has received an overwhelming number of requests by well-respected humane workers and rescuers to investigate the conditions at the Devore shelter.  Being a member of the Board of Directors for scores of national humane organizations, he wanted the input of Devore management.  Despite numerous calls made to its office, one in which the office hung up on his assistant, no conversation ensued.

Sharing the frustration of not being heard, Mr. Eckstein feels compelled to create an environment where people who are dissatisfied with the care of the animals in Devore, as well as the lack of communication with Devore’s management, can air their vision for a transformation in humane care for the animals in the Devore shelter.
